Email asks you to confirm/update/verify your account data at Fairwinds Credit Union by visiting the given link. You will be taken to a spoof website where your details will be captured for the phishers.

Fairwinds Credit Union never send their users emails requesting personal details in this way.

The REAL URL of the spoof website is disguised as "https://fairwindsonline.org/Common/ SignOn/Start.asp".

The REAL URL of the spoof website looks nothing like the actual Fairwinds Credit Union URL.

Dear Fairwinds Credit Union Member,

Your online banking account password has expired. For security reasons your personal access code needs to get updated. A fundamental element of safeguarding your confidential information is to provide protection against unauthorized access or use of this information. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal guidelines to guard your nonpublic personal information against unauthorized access.

At this time we need you to follow the necessary steps needed to update your online banking account password:

You are responsible for your password and agree to keep it confidential at all times. Do not disclose your personal access code to anyone unauthorized to sign on your account.

Our online banking system allows you now to have different passwords for online and phone access. You may wish to choose this option in order to select an alpha-numeric password for your online account. The personal access code for your phone access must be numeric.
