Comments:
  • Email asks you to confirm/update/verify your account data at Downey Savings by visiting the given link. You will be taken to a spoof website where your details will be captured for the phishers.

  • Downey Savings never send their users emails requesting personal details in this way.

  • The REAL URL of the spoof website is disguised as "www.downeysavingsonlinebanking.com".

  • The REAL URL of the spoof website looks nothing like the actual Downey Savings URL.

"We are attempting to verify some recent transactions on your account."

Dear Downey Savings Client,

We are attempting to verify some recent transactions on your account. After we have made the verification we were unable to confirm your personal identity.

Login to Online Banking any day of the week between 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. ET, complete all the information requested and your personal identity will be confirmed and protected.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause but Downey Savings feels this is a necessary precaution to protect our members personal identity information.

You may also view your transactions online by logging in to or registering for our Online Banking at www.downeysavingsonlinebanking.com

There is no need to call us in response to a phone message we've left in the last three days unless you see any transactions you don't recognize.

Thank you for helping us protect your account.

P.S. For any general account questions, call the phone number on the back of your card.
