  • Email asks you to confirm/update/verify your account data at Bank of America by visiting the given link. You will be taken to a spoof website where your details will be captured for the phishers.


  • Bank of America never send their users emails requesting personal details in this way.


  • The REAL URL of the spoof website is disguised as "https://onlineid.bankofamerica.com/cgi-bin/ sso.login.controller".


  • The REAL URL of the spoof website has been chosen to look very similar to the actual Bank of America URL. Do not be fooled!

We recently have determined that different computers have logged in your Bank of America Online Banking account, and multiple password failures were present before the logons. We now need you to re-confirm your account information to us. If this is not completed by June 23, 2005, we will be forced to suspend your account indefinitely, as it may have been used for fraudulent purposes. We thank you for your cooperation in this manner. In order to confirm your Online Bank records, we may require some specific information from you.
