This spoof eBay email was distributed on 10th September 2003 and we also have images of the spoof web pages that it would have sent you to. These are just images of the originals, so there is absolutely no code included and none of the links or buttons will now work. The images shown have been reduced 80% of the original size.
The email hoax...
The spoof email requests that you update your eBay information as part of a 'security request'. Its a fairly lengthy form as far as spoof go, and requires quite detailed information including your eBay user ID and password, as well as credit card information.
The form script makes use of a web form processing service operated
by sparklit.com, which would collate and forward any information
entered, on to the scammers. The sparklit service was withdrawn from
use shortly after this spoof was distributed.
