eBay hoax email
in distribution from the 29th September 2003

This eBay email hoax was in distribution from 29th September 2003 and we an image of the email hoax (the bogus web page was closed before we got to it. This is just an image of the original, so there is absolutely no code included and the link will not work. The image shown have been reduced to 80% of the original size.

The email hoax...

The spoof email states that eBay has tried to authorise a payment from your credit card , and that payment was declined. The email hoax requests that you use the link provided to 'resubmit' your credit card information. Using the link would have opened your browser with a bogus eBay web page.

The bogus web page...

The bogus web page was closed when we received and investigated this spoof report so, unfortunately, we do not have an image to show you this time, but the URL contained within the link would have led you to -

which has absolutely nothing to do with eBay, and is in fact a domain hosted by Romania Data Systems (in Romania of-course).
