Wells Fargo email notifies you of a new
message and urges you to use the form to sign in, but its a scam...
Wells Fargo online users are the target of this phishing scam,
and email recipients are faced with a very convincing and well constructed message
which urges them to sign on (using the from within the message) to view an important
message regarding policy changes (see image below).
If you were to submit your Wells Fargo user name and password,
it will be sent to a remote PHP script, located at http://184.108.40.206/ which
resolves to an ISP in China.
If you have received this email, please remember that it is very
common for these email scams to be redistributed at a later date with only slightly
different content or the same but with the fake page(s) hosted by a different
provider. Also, once you have received one of these hoaxes, it is also common
place to receive at least another one and usually a day or two after the first,
although not necessarily from the same apparent sender.
