WARNINGS

1. The first page opened when the link is clicked is simply a mask. Based in San Diego, USA, it provides a friendly looking URL, wheras its real content, (from the second server in Poland) opens in a frame. Information is then captured by a local script.

2. When the bogus page first loads, a popup message appears, (see below), apparently reminding you to enter your details.

" Dear valued AOL member, We are sorry to notify that we had a system crash during a high DOS Attack that was launched on July 1st 2004. ..."

If you have received this email, please remember that it is very common for these email scams to be redistributed at a later date with only slightly different content or the same but with the fake page(s) hosted by a different provider. Also, once you have received one of these hoaxes, it is also common place to receive at least another one and usually a day or two after the first, although not necessarily from the same apparent sender.
