Spoof email links to a spoof webpage where victim is prompted to enter their details believing the site is genuine. Details are then forwarded to a local script and captured.

WARNINGS

1. Email requests you enter your bank details to safeguard your account. Entering your details will send them straight into the hands of the scammers through a local script.

2. Suntrust never send users emails requesting details in this way.

3. Spoof page loads as a 'popup' in front of the real Suntrust site making it seem more authentic.

4. Spoof webpage claims to be secure but isn't, so any details you enter will be sent unencrypted as well as straight into the hands of the scammers!

If you have received this email, please remember that it is very common for these email scams to be redistributed at a later date with only slightly different content or the same but with the fake page(s) hosted by a different provider. Also, once you have received one of these hoaxes, it is also common place to receive at least another one and usually a day or two after the first, although not necessarily from the same apparent sender.

Dear SunTrust Banks, Inc. customer , In the last 3 days several atempts to trasnfer money from your Account  in an offshore Bank Account have been made. Since the transactions where suspicios whe decided to temporarily limited access to sensitive SunTrust account features.Until the account ownership is established. Whe are forced to ask you to confirm account ownership in order to maintain the integrity of the SunTrust Banks system. Please click on the following link to confirm your account : https://www.suntrust.com/ Please fill out the forms with the corect information doing otherwise your account will be suspended. All information requested are necesary to verify your account ownership.
