eBay Unauthorised Account Access email hoax is a scam ...
We've had a lot of reports of this email hoax and so must eBay have, since the site that it linked to has been closed, so we lack the snapshot of the web page this time. We do, however, have the snapshot of the email, and this is the first thing that you will see in this scam.
If you have received this hoax email, please remember that it is very common for these email scams to be redistributed at a later date with only slightly different content or the same but with the fake page(s) hosted by a different provider. Also, once you have received one of these hoaxes, it is also common place to receive at least another one and usually a day or two after the first, although not necessarily from the same apparent sender.
This email suggests that there has been an unauthorised access of your eBay account, but this is just not true in this instance. Every email has shown the same apparent IP address and ISP host. This added to give extra authenticity to the email.
The fake page is hosted on web servers operated by a ' Bharti British Telecom Internet Limited' located in New Dehli, India. Whilst we missed the fake web page, we have little doubt that it would have included a fake eBay web form which would have required your credit or debit card and banking information.
